This year, Ranchview High School welcomes a new leader of the wolf pack as the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District chooses Sherie Skruch as the new interim principal for the 2012-2013 school year.

She graduated Doane College in Nebraska with a Bachelor of Arts degree and later went on to receive her Master of Education degree from Dallas Baptist University. Proir to joining C-FB ISD, Skruch taught in Dallas ISD and South Texas ISD, according to C-FB ISD's website.

Although Skruch is new to Ranchview, she is not unfamiliar to the C-FB district. For 13 years, she has worked in the district as a teacher at Creekview High School for seven years and as an assistant principal at Newman Smith High School for six years.

As the leader of the Ranchview wolf pack, Skruch is looking forward to working continually improve the school.

"I am excited about moving to Ranchview and working with the students, staff and parents in this community," Skruch said. "I will work with the teachers to provide the best educational experiences in the classroom and to run the building in the most efficient manner."

In her new role as interim principal, she hopes to work with students and teachers in achieving the school's goals for their students.

"This year, I want to build on the strong instructional practices that are already in place at Ranchview and to assist teachers as we continually improve teaching and learning," she said. "I want the school to continue and to expand the traditions of excellence that have been established in the classrooms, on the playing fields and in the arts programs."

Skruch also wants to make sure students graduate Ranchview with the skills and knowledge needed to take on the world as adults.

"Most importantly, I want the students at Ranchview to leave our building with the skills that will prepare them for the 21st century," Skruch said.

Through being an educator, Skruch says that she enjoys having the opportunity to get to know students as individuals and help them reach their potential and achieve their goals.

"My greatest joy is to work with and see a student who struggles, but overcomes his or her challenge to graduate from high school," she said. "It also brings me delight to see students grow and mature and accomplish tasks that they never thought were possible."

In her new position, Skruch plans to implement her leadership skills and experience as an educator to help students reach their goals.

"My job as an educator is to help students develop the skills they need to make their dreams become a reality."

Dr. Burns, superintendent of C-FB ISD welcomes Skruch onto the C-FB staff and looks forward to her leadership at Ranchview.

"C-FB welcomes our new staff members and those who are serving our students in new roles," Dr. Burns said. "We have hired the best and the brightest for Team C-FB and they will help us accomplish our goal of high achievement for all students."
