Dallas Christian cruises over HSAA for season-opening win
By DEVIN HASSON, dhasson@starlocalnews.com
Dallas Christian showed a little of everything in Friday's season opener against HSAA.
The Chargers scored on offense, defense and special teams as they rolled to a 49-0 win at Charger Stadium.
Dallas Christian running back Kalir Joseph did the most damage, scoring four touchdowns to lead the rushing attack.
The special teams then chipped in later in the first quarter when Hayden Baker returned a blocked punt 16 yards for a score to push the advantage to 21-0.
The Chargers kept the pressure on in the second, as Joseph scored on a 19-yard run and Baker returned an interception 85 yards for a touchdown that made it 35-0 at halftime.
Dallas Christian cruised in the second half, but still managed to build on its lead. Joseph added his final touchdown run in the third quarter with a 3-yard scoring plunge, while Preston Nix added a short touchdown run in the fourth to close out the scoring.
