First Allen resident dies from West Nile

According to a press release from the City of Allen, the city has been informed by Collin County Health Care Services that an Allen resident has died of the West Nile virus, the first in Allen city limits.


At this time, there are eight confirmed cases of the West Nile Virus reported in Allen.

For patient confidentiality, no further information was released by the Collin County health officials.

In accordance with the mosquito control programs in Allen, the city urges citizens to report areas of stagnant water or concern by calling 214-509-4160.
