12-5A FOOTBALL STANDINGS
Quick look: After years of the East Texas teams dominating this district, the pendulum started to swing toward the Mesquite ISD schools last year with two teams making the playoffs and that trend continued in the first week of 12-5A play as Mesquite and Horn took down Longview and Tyler Lee, respectively.
This is no time for complacency for the Skeeters, though, as they must travel to face a very good Rockwall-Heath team that is also 1-0 after thrashing crosstown rival Rockwall last week.
Horn will try to improve to 2-0 against a struggling but dangerous Yellow Jacket team, while North Mesquite, which had a bye last week, opens 12-5A play with a home date with Tyler Lee.
