Chargers stomp Fort Worth Christian, 41-7

Published: Saturday, September 15, 2012 4:05 PM CDT
Dallas Christian built a 34-0 halftime lead and never looked back on Friday as it cruised to a 41-7 victory over Fort Worth Christian.

The Chargers, who improved to 3-0 on the season, held Fort Worth Christian to 155 yards and did not surrender a score until the final quarter.

The offense, meanwhile, provided more than enough support.

D'Andre Cannon got things started with a big play when he busted a 65-yard touchdown run. The passing game then followed suit, as Alex Craig and Justis Nelson hooked up on a 63-yard scoring strike to make it 13-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Dallas Christian poured it on in the second, as Cannon scored on runs of eight and one yards and Craig threw a short touchdown pass to Hayden Baker to push the lead to 34-0 at halftime.

The Chargers hit the brakes in the second half, with Craig's 39-yard touchdown pass to Baker providing their only points.

Fort Worth Christian finally got on the scoreboard on a touchdown run by Hunter Smiley in the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late.
