Founders Classical Academy Groundbreaking Oct. 4 in Lewisville
Campus is the first Hillsdale College and ResponsiveEd classical charter school
Lewisville, Texas — Founders Classical Academy of Lewisville (http://FoundersClassical.com) and Hillsdale College (http://hillsdale.edu) will host a groundbreaking ceremony at noon on October 4, 2012, to celebrate the school’s inaugural year and the construction of a new upper school building. The ceremony will take place at 1010 Bellaire Blvd. in Lewisville.
The new 27,890 square feet, two-story upper school building will serve 540 students. The new building, complete with library, cafeteria, and 19 classrooms, is expected to open in August 2013. Once complete, the school will serve more than 800 students.

Why:
Founders Classical Academy is the first classical charter school in Texas created as a result of collaboration between ResponsiveEd and Hillsdale College’s Barney Charter School Initiative. Through this initiative, the College will support the launch of K-12 charter schools. These schools will be based on a classical liberal arts model and have a strong civics component that will equip students to understand and defend the principles of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
