MATHEWS PTA RAISES $10,000!

Going for Gold!
By Carrie La Ferle Edwards
Mathews PTA succeeds in raising $10,000 for their Primary Fundraiser! By moving from ‘fundraising’ via selling things as a primary method of raising money to asking parents for a one time contribution to the PTA at the start of the year, Mathews PTA was able to raise over $10,000. Each family was asked to contribute any amount, but ideally $40 per student for the year in order to pay for the PTA events and offerings. By going alone and not being partnered with a sponsor, all of the money raised is able to go to the PTA to spend on initiatives that benefit the students. This is certainly an option for other PTAs to consider in an era that seems to find everyone short on time for participating in after work fundraising initiatives.
