Let your imagination run wild as you walk back in time along a half-mile nature trail with nine life-size animatronic dinosaurs! Be captivated as you watch the dinosaurs move and roar and learn interesting dinosaur facts. Check out both herbivores and carnivores and the return of the infamous Tyrannosaurus Rex! Dinosaurs on exhibit include a spitting Dilophosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Acrocanthosaurus, Edmontia, Edmontosaurus, Ornithomimus, Carnotaurus, and two Coelophysis. Kids will also enjoy playing on the static Apatosaurus and Parasaurolophus baby dinosaurs. The dinosaur trail is also jogging stroller friendly. The exhibit will give families and friends a unique, exciting and educational activity to experience together and provide an ideal family outing during the holidays.
Halloween at the Heard – October 20th, 6 PM – 10 PM
Trick-or-treat along the Dinosaurs Live! trail at Collin County’s premier family-friendly Halloween event. Enjoy The Lorax (PG) under the stars in the Heard’s outdoor amphitheater. Kids 12 and under can participate in costume contests. For those who dare, take a trail detour through our “Haunted Forest” after the movie. You may encounter a ghost or creature of the night! (Not recommended for younger guests.) This event sells out each year, so be sure to get your tickets when they become available on October 8.
About Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary
The Heard was founded in 1967 by Bessie Heard. Miss Heard was 80 years old when she saw the need to preserve a place where future generations could experience nature. Today, the Heard's mission of bringing nature and people together is carried out through education, particularly of young people, which emphasizes an appreciation of nature and its conservation.
