Class of 1977 - 35th Reunion Timeline:

Thursday:

Parade line-up at 5 p.m. on Purnell Street. Darrell Moseley will bring his truck and trailer to Purnell. Get lined up for parade and dign all waivers for attendees in trailer. Parade begins at 6 p.m. Community pep-rally at 8 p.m.

Friday:

LHS community pre-game tours and $2 dinner plate from 5 to 7 p.m. Meet committee members near the gate entrance for a ticket to the game. Friday night after the game: alumni gathering.

Saturday:

Denim & Diamonds at Main Event from 6 to 10 p.m.

Tickets are purchased prior to the event at http://www.lhs1977grads.com. At the door ticket price is $75 per person. Online ticket price is $55 per person.

LHS prepares for 115th homecoming

"There's no place like home" is a fitting theme as Lewisville High School and its feeder schools begin preparation for Lewisville's 115th annual homecoming festivities, which will take place Oct. 8-13. Following is a brief overview of the week's activities.


Monday, Oct. 8 - Hallway Decorating

Tuesday, Oct 9 - Ribbon Cutting, Open House, Building Tours and More

Wednesday, Oct. 10 - Chalk the Walks Fun Day

Thursday, Oct. 11 - Homecoming Parade and Community Pep Rally

Friday, Oct. 12 - Tailgating Bash, Festivities and Football Game

Saturday, Oct. 13 - Homecoming Dance (Ninth through 12th grade students only.)

Lewisville High School will hold its annual homecoming parade and community pep rally Thursday, Oct. 11, in Old Town Lewisville. The parade will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the pep rally on the steps of Lewisville City Hall, 151 W. Church St. at 7:30 p.m.

Marcus shines at debate tourney

The Marcus High School debate team found success at the Newman Smith Debate tournament last weekend.

Daniel Becker won first place in varsity Lincoln-Douglas Debate. Cherry Srivastava and Amber Herrington won first place in varsity Public Forum Debate and placed third in Domestic Extemporaneous Debate.

Lyndie Ho and Elise Anderson made it to the quarterfinals round in varsity Lincoln-Douglas Debate.

Open house set

Destination ImagiNation will host an open house Tuesday at Creek Valley Middle School, 4109 Creek Valley Blvd. The event will have creative, hands-on activities for the entire family.

Downing spaghetti dinner

Downing Middle School will host a spaghetti dinner from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 25 at the school.

The dinner includes: spaghetti with choice of sauce, salad, bread and dessert. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students, seniors and teachers.

Craft show set

Lewisville High School's Baseball Booster Club will hold its 18th annual Craft Show Saturday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the cafeteria at LHS Harmon campus,1250 West Round Grove Road.

College Notes

Howard Payne University

Flower Mound's Hannah Hicks has been nominated for Homecoming Princess at Howard Payne University.

Hicks is the daughter of Gary and Lynn Hicks. She is a junior exercise and sport science major and is involved in HPU volleyball.

Hicks will be honored along with the other members of the Homecoming Court during HPU's homecoming convocation at 2 p.m. Friday in the Mims Auditorium. She will also be featured in the homecoming parade and football game on Saturday.

Georgia Tech

Kevin Dietze of Flower Mound earned the distinction of Faculty Honors for the summer of 2012 at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Undergraduate students earning a 4.00 academic average for the semester gain the distinction of Faculty Honors at Georgia Tech.

Kansas State

George David Ammerman of Flower Mound earned his Bachelor of Arts degree following the summer semester at Kansas State University.

Savannah College of Art and Design

Richard Adams of Flower Mound was named to the dean's list at the Savannah College of Art and Design for summer quarter 2012.

Full-time undergraduate students who earn a grade point average of 3.5 or above for the quarter receive recognition on the dean's list. Adams is seeking a BFA degree in sound design.
