McKinney Christian Academy scored on their opening drive, in Friday night football action, and never looked back in defeating Waco’s Texas Christian Academy. The Mustangs scored on each of their first seven possessions to post a 49-0 lead in a lopsided win over the Stars.
MCA’s offense was led by the tandem of Sky Walker and Connor Doyle. Walker scored two rushing touchdowns while running for 89 yards on only six carries. Doyle scored on two runs, and a pass reception, and accumulated 228 yards of total offense. Montana Brock also scored on a run with Jacob Weideman adding a 32 yard reception for the Mustangs final touchdown. Caleb Wysong added 5 extra points to round out MCA scoring.
McKinney Christian’s offense was finally slowed by a continuous clock and liberal substitutions in the second half. Texas Christian managed to score on a 23 yard reception to end the third quarter, and a spectacular 33 yard reception at the goal line over the head of the defender, both by Dylan Campbell. Aside from those two receptions, the Mustang defense held the Stars offense to less than 100 yards of total offense including only 24 yards rushing.
McKinney Christian resumes play next Friday at Rockwall Christian Academy in a 7:30 p.m. game at Rockwall High School.
