15 area schools compete for $25,000 cash prizes in Collin Creek Mall’s 2012-13 A+ Rewards

Fifteen public and private schools located near Collin Creek Mall will participate in the 2012-13 A+ Rewards, the shopping center’s program that awards a total of $25,000 to area schools throughout the school year. A+ Rewards, formerly known as My School’s Cool, has awarded $42,500 to area schools since it was launched for the 2010-11 school year.
Participating schools include Akin Elementary School in Wylie, Armstrong Middle School in Plano, Bethany Elementary School in Plano, Brighter Horizons Academy in Garland, Carlisle Elementary School in Plano, Carpenter Middle School in Plano, Draper Intermediate School in Wylie, McCall Elementary School in Plano, Mathews Elementary School in Plano, Otto Middle School in Plano, Pearson Early Childhood School in Plano, PESH/Plano East Senior High School in Plano, Schimelpfenig Middle School in Plano, Stinson Elementary School in Plano and Williams High School in Plano.
NEW FOR 2012-13: A+ Rewards $500 monthly rewards
McCall Elementary School is the first winner of the $500 A+ Rewards and will be receiving a check from Collin Creek Mall.
Schools earn points through a variety of tactics, including submitting receipts from purchases at Collin Creek Mall, promoting the program through school newsletters and more. Receipts dated Thursday, August 15, 2012 through Tuesday, May 7, 2013 can be redeemed for points. At the end of the year, Collin Creek Mall will award $20,000 in end-of-year cash prizes, in addition to the $5,000 awarded during the year, to the schools.
Eleven schools enrolled for the 2011-12 year, and Otto Middle School in Plano earned $4,714 in first place. Second place Stinson Elementary in Plano was awarded $4,510 and third-place winner Carlisle Elementary in Plano earned $4,037. The remaining eight schools were also awarded prizes based on the number of points earned over the 2011-12 school year.
