HIMES
Monzell Himes of Lucas, Texas, passed away, after a brief illness, November 12, 2012 at the age of 80.
She was born February 13, 1932, in Ravenden, Arkansas, to Henry William and Manilla (Holder) Anderson. In December 1949, Monzell married Conley Junior Himes in Pocahontas, Arkansas.
Monzell was artistic and loved to paint. She was a member of Spring Creek Church of Christ in Plano, Texas.
She is survived by her children, Rod Himes of Humble, Texas, Michael Himes of Lucas, Texas, Gail Benson of Lucas, Texas and Robin Miller of Alamogordo, New Mexico; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Bill Anderson of Gainesville, Missouri.
Monzell is preceded in death by her husband, Conley Junior Himes; parents, Henry William and Manilla Anderson; sister, Verna Leigh; and her beloved dog, Cuddles.
A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas, with interment following at Ridgeview Memorial Park, in Allen, Texas. The family received friends during a visitation from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
