Vista Ridge Mall welcomes Santa Claus

Published: Thursday, November 15, 2012 5:57 PM CST
It's time for the holidays, time for decorating and caroling and visiting and shopping and it's time to welcome Santa back to town.

Santa arrived at Vista Ridge Mall on Friday. He settled into the Big Vista Lodge around 10 a.m. and was ready to listen to all the wishes and dreams of the girls and boys.

The Big Vista Lodge is Santa's home away from home, a cozy setting like a mountaintop cabin, where Santa and his guests can enjoy a nice visit. There's a welcoming stone fireplace where stockings are hung with care, a bright Christmas tree, presents and holiday decorations galore inside. Outside, trees are dusted with snow and there are games for children to enjoy.

Santa will be ready and waiting for visitors every day through the holidays. He does need to take a break every once and a while during the day, so his elves suggest that visitors check www.vistaridgemall.com for his schedule.

Friends of Santa will find him waiting in his Big Vista Lodge, located on the lower level near Dillard's.

On Nov. 29 from 4 to 8 p.m., Santa invites pet owners to bring cats and dogs to Vista Ridge Mall to pose for photos with the family in the cozy setting at Big Vista Lodge. Photo packages start at $15. Cats and dogs on a leash or in an appropriate carrier only. Animals, other than those servicing the disabled, are not allowed in the shopping center except on pet nights. Pet owners are asked to enter with pets at entrance No. 2, on the upper level just above the Big Vista Lodge photo area.

On Dec. 8 from 8:30 to 10 a.m., children can come for a fun breakfast party, courtesy of Sonic and Vista Ridge Mall - and meet Santa when he drops by to say hello. Santa's Breakfast is free, but guests are asked to bring non-perishable food items or paper goods to be donated to the local food pantry of Christian Community Action (CCA) in Lewisville. The Breakfast Party will be in the food court.

From Nov. 18 through Dec. 23, Vista Ridge Mall will host the Giving Tree benefiting Christian Community Action (CCA), a Lewisville-based organization that has been feeding, sheltering, educating and training families in need for more than 35 years.

The Giving Tree, located in the Big Sky Café Food Court, is decorated with numbered tags with suggested gift ideas, including the age and gender of a child who will receive the gift. Contributors can remove one or more tags from the tree and purchase appropriate gifts based on the information on the tag. Shoppers return the gifts, unwrapped, to Vista Ridge Mall.
