Centennial junior receiver Kelly Cordova
Friday’s regional semifinals game against Red Oak was never in doubt for Centennial.
The Titans stormed out to a 20-0 lead at halftime and never looked back, thanks in large part to junior receiver Kelly Cordova.
Cordova caught 10 passes for 106 yards and one touchdown to help lead the Titans to a 40-14 victory and give Centennial a regional finals matchup against Tyler John Tyler at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Ennis.
Cordova’s 21-yard touchdown catch from senior quarterback Lamar Jordan at the beginning of the fourth quarter was also the dagger for Red Oak, giving the Titans a safe 33-7 lead. The junior’s 10 receptions were also twice as many as any other player in the game.
Cordova and the Titans will look to continue their winning ways tonight with a trip to the state semifinals on the line.
