BY Matt Welch, mwelch@starlocalnews.com
The Prestonwood Christian Academy boys basketball team will soldier through the next three months without arguably the top high school hoopster in the nation.
USA Today reports that senior Julius Randle suffered a fractured right foot Saturday against Duncanville and as a result, will miss approximately three months. Randle is ranked among the top prospects in the nation, including No. 2 by Rivals and No. 4 by ESPN.
The injury was sustained in Prestonwood's second game of the season, a 58-48 loss to Duncanville at the Thanksgiving Hoopfest. One day prior, Randle led the Lions to a 59-52 victory over Madison Prep and tallied 29 points, 13 rebounds and five assists.
Prestonwood, 1-1 on the year, next takes the court Friday at 8 p.m. in a home outing against Woodrow Wilson.
