While most of us in Texas are still donning bathing suits, wearing shorts and flip flops the owners and staff of The Elegant Door, in the Villages of Fairview, have been toiling away to create an inspiration filled decorating wonderland.

Walking in the front door of their large corner store in The Villages of Fairview, you are instantly exposed to the colors, textures, aromas and arrangements that will inspire to you make your own home a showplace for your friends and relatives.

Owners Sharon Rowland (formerly of The Market and Laura Leigh's), and Bronwyn McWatters (owner and also formerly from The Market) are the main creators behind the concepts for the holiday season.

"The holiday season comes so quickly these days," remarks Rowland, "and we wanted to create a display that would spark someone's imagination."

Each year The Elegant Door displays six Christmas trees each with a separate theme and color scheme.  From one year to the next, they do not duplicate themes so frequent shoppers never know what is coming next. Together with their team of designers it takes almost 6 weeks to complete the set-up of this eclectic and outstanding displays of holiday decorating inspirations.

After being bedazzled by the custom tree display you can discover hidden treasures like Kurt Adler nutcrackers and Mark Roberts Santa?s displayed in beautiful vignettes.  Another hidden treasure, and one of my favorites is the collection of heirloom Advent calendars.

Since floral arrangements are so important to liven-up a home during the holidays, owner McWatters  and the custom in-house floral department is in great demand.

According to McWatters, "our team creates beautifully decorated garlands, swags and wreaths and you can see samples that are draped over every surface of the display."

If you haven't stopped by The Elegant Door during the holidays, you should. It may just inspire you and reignite that spark that makes you want to drag everything out of the attic and 'give it all you've got' this year.  Or maybe you should just stop by because it is really pretty to look at.
