Luther Thomas "Corky" McDonald succumbed to stomach cancer at his home in Frisco, Texas, on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.
He was 69 years old.Tom, as his friends and family knew him, was born in Pineland, Texas, on September 11, 1943, to Elmer E. and Marjorie McDonald, and was the younger brother of Elmer Earl and James Henry "Tubby" McDonald, deceased.
In 2007, Tom retired from Hehr International. In retirement, Tom enjoyed as many rounds of golf as he could play and completed writing two books, "Touch of Blood" and "The Touch Continues." Tom enjoyed golf and reading, and maintained an unmatched knowledge of sports history ... especially football.
Tom is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary; his son Gavain and wife Elena and their sons Samuel, Wyatt, Tucker and Max; his son Kerry and wife Kim and their sons Matthew, Connor and Brody; his brother Elmer Earl and wife Lenore; James' widow Debet McDonald; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
A memorial service for Tom will be held on Saturday, February 9, at 1:30 p.m. at Waterview Church of Christ at 1409 North Waterview Drive, Richardson, TX 75080.
