To better serve Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) passengers boarding the A-train at DART's Trinity Mills station, a DCTA ticket vending machine has been installed at the south end of the Trinity Mills station platform.
Previously, passengers only had the option of purchasing DART regional passes for A-train trips. Trips on the A-train between Trinity Mills station and the Downtown Denton Station are considered part of DCTA Local System trips. Regional passes are appropriate when passengers need to utilize both DART and DCTA.
"We have passengers who start their trip at the Trinity Mills station and need a pass to travel northbound on the A-train," said Jarod Varner, vice president transit operations. "It is important for those passengers to have the ability to purchase the appropriate fare for traveling on the DCTA system."
The fee for a local system day pass is $6 and allows a passenger to travel on the A-train, as well as DCTA's fixed-route bus services in Lewisville and Denton. For Seniors (65+), Medicare card holders and students (ages 5-18, students over the age of 14 require a valid high school or DCTA issued ID) may purchase a reduced local system day pass for $2.50.
