Early onslaught: Horn uses big first half to down Sachse in bi-district round

Sachse entered Tuesday night flying high as it was making its first playoff appearance in school history.
Horn made sure that the celebration stopped there.
The Jaguars raced to a 22-point halftime lead and never looked back in a 68-43 victory over the Mustangs in a Class 5A bi-district playoff game at Royse City High School.
Sachse head coach Dwight Williams said before the game that the key for his team would be to slow down Horn's Anthony Sharp. That proved to be easier said than done, as Sharp accounted for a game-high 29 points.
The Jaguars, making their seventh consecutive playoff appearance, looked like the more experienced team coming out of the gate as they started the game on a 22-9 run.
It was more of the same in the second quarter, as Horn pushed the advantage to 42-20 at halftime.
The second half was more evenly played, but for Sachse, the huge deficit was too much to overcome.
In addition to Sharp, Zach Charles scored 13 points and Adrian Chevis added 10. Jake Gross led the Mustangs with 11 points, while Tyrique Edwards chipped in with seven.
