If this past weekend was any indication, the Horn softball and baseball teams have a lot to look forward to this season.

The Jaguar softball team posted a 4-1 record at the Mesquite ISD Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Horn started strong with a pair of good all-around efforts in shutout victories over Mansfield Summit (10-0) and Sachse (8-0)

The Jaguars then outslugged Waxahachie for a 12-7 win. Ashley Moore got the win on the mound, with Kelsea Fite and Aubree Turbeville supplying doubles to lead the offense.

Horn's one slip-up at the tournmaent came at the hands of Mansfield Legacy, who despite giving up 11 Jaguar hits, was able to pull out an 8-5 win.

The baseball team was busy at the DeSoto/Cedar Hill Tournament, where it won three games.

Horn closed out the event with an 8-4 victory over Euless Trinity on Saturday. Clayton Youngman earned the win, with Jared Thompson and Tommy Willard doubling to lead a 10-hit attack.

Earlier that day, the Jaguars had doubled up Bishop Dunne, 4-2. Thompson, Brett Harryman and Jordan Brasuell provided the big hits.

Horn had opened the tournament on Friday with Michael Floyd earning the win on the mound in an 8-2 win against Royse City.
