Only 10 points separated the top three teams Sept.15 at Bakersfield Park in Flower Mound, including a pair of LISD programs jockeying for the top spot.

Despite not having the overall individual champion, the Jaguars had five runners finish in the top 17 to claim the overall title (52) ahead of Keller Timber Creek (54) and Hebron (64).

Not to be outdone was Flower Mound's girls team, which claimed the top spot by a more comfortable margin. The Lady Jaguars totaled 38 points, ahead of the Lady Hawks (66) and Coppell (88).

Other local programs running in Flower Mound included Coppell (fourth, 107) and Lewisville (ninth, 252) on the boys side, and the Lady Farmers in 12th (278) in girls.

Flower Mound's top individual performer came on the girls side, where Safiya Belbina picked up the silver (18:36.49) behind Hockaday's Jackie Choucair (18:33.99). Also earning top 10 finishes in ladies action were Hebron's Megan Montgomery (18:45.14) in third, Flower Mound's Catalina Uriarte (18:59.27) in fourth, Hebron's Alondra Hoyos (19:00.99) in fifth, Hebron's Rachel Jones (19:02.93) in sixth, Flower Mound's Rebecca Jacobson (19:03.55) in seventh and Coppell's Katie Sandfort in 10th (19:44.62).

Top performers for boys were Hebron's Robert Domanic (15:52.27) with gold, Coppell's Carson Vickroy (16:10.62) with silver, Flower Mound's Wesley Ward (16:15.05) with bronze, Hebron's James Bodnar (16:19.43) in fourth and Flower Mound's Andrew McRae (16:25.21) in seventh.

The Colony also competed in Flower Mound but didn't field a full squad. Blake Anderson (16:52.27) finished 14th for the Cougars.

While Flower Mound was hosting a meet, Marcus took part in the McKinney Boyd Cross Country Meet at Myers Park. And just like their cross-town counterparts, the Marauders and Lady Marauders swept first-place finishes.

The boys (38) outpaced Plano West (45) and Plano East (83), while the girls (31) bested Highland Park (54) and Frisco (97).

Leading the charge for the Lady Marauders with silver was Sydney Brown (17:42.10), who crossed the line just ahead of teammate Madeline Reed in bronze (17:46.20). Peyton Brown placed eighth (18:51.60), with Emily Jeacock in 10th (19:18.30), Natalie Polei in 11th (19:24.40), Miciah Derenzo in 15th (19:35.10) and Hannah Bradley in 20th (19:48.40).

For the boys, Logan Hendrix (15:33.40) procured silver, with Evan Durrill in fourth (15:45.80), Adam Steele in 13th (16:19.70), Drew Guenther in 14th (16:20.70), Josh Duffy in 15th (16:24.30), Alec Blair in 17th (16:30.30) and Ben Reed in 23rd (16:56.30).
