Julius Randle commits to Kentucky

McKinney resident and Prestonwood Christian Academy senior forward Julius Randle ended months and years of anticipation Wednesday afternoon when he committed to Kentucky in a ceremony televised live on ESPNU from the Prestonwood campus.


Randle had hats for all four of his finalists (Kentucky, Kansas, Florida and Texas) but speculation immediately favored the Wildcats as that was the only hat without a sticker on it and the lone one with a bend in it as if it had been tried on.

The hype is understandable.

Once tabbed the top basketball recruit in the country for the Class of 2013 by ESPN, Randle remains a force in all the major rankings as he is slotted at No. 2 in the country by Rivals, No. 3 by ESPN and No. 5 by Scout.
