Walmart Ready to Reveal New Store to Lucas Shoppers

Residents of Lucas are invited to come to the new Walmart store, which opens Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 2662 W. Lucas Road. The grand opening is scheduled for 8 a.m., and the store will open to the public immediately following the grand-opening ceremony. Conveniently located at The Crossroads, the new store brings 300 new jobs to the area and opportunities for savings for customers. It will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Customers and members of the Lucas community are invited to come to the store on grand-opening day to enjoy of a wide variety of grand-opening events and promotions. The grand-opening day celebrations include product samplings and giveaways from vendors such as Pepperidge Farms, Bimbo, Frito-Lay, Kellogg’s, Dr. Pepper, Bright Ideas and SunnyD. Character appearances will include Bimbo the Bear, Tony the Tiger and Chester Cheetah. Other activities include a raffle and a photo background. The grand–opening celebration will continue through Saturday, Feb. 16, and include pony rides, drawings for an iPad and Dallas Mavericks tickets. All events are family-friendly, free and open to the public.
