The Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge could elicit new motorists and economic expansion, but also mark the end to a serene era for some lake residents.

Little Elm officials say the $122 million bridge, slated to open in August, will bring in new businesses and visitors. But lake residents don’t like the thought of an estimated 40,000 vehicles cruising through their tranquil lifestyles everyday.

(Baseball) McKinney Marshals ready for rally
(Saturday, July 4, 2009 7:28 AM CDT)
The McKinney Marshals of the Texas Collegiate League had a difficult start to their season, evidenced by their record of 4-14 at the end of June.

The team showed initial promise by notching a marathon win over the Brazos Valley Bombers on opening night. That win saw Nico Taylor, a McKinney native, drive in the winning run in the 16th inning; but that has been the Marshals’ sole at home win.

Shooting over the shoulder at legends
(Friday, July 3, 2009 11:22 AM CDT)
“Public Enemies” can only loosely be categorized as a biopic. It is about John Dillinger, major events presented did happen, but director Michael Mann isn’t interested in rehashing history. Unless it’s about how a BAR shell sounds when it hits dirt. “Public Enemies” is out to shoot holes in the myth of Dillinger, literally, with a heavy dose of realism and some of the most exquisite gunfights ever filmed.
